Just read the extra bit and you are so right. We have to do something to change society that normalises and encourages such mysogeny and hatred and such violence.
Misogyny is at the base of illegal covert coercive controlling behaviour as well. A huge problem is too many covert coercive controlling domestic abusers get away with far too much and that creates a tsunami in families and ripples out in society detrimentally to future generations. until we start taking domestic abusers more seriously nothing is going to improve.
Brilliant. The way you have written about this terrible incident . It is good to read a piece that is not full of ranting and accusations. It is studied and thorough. Thank you
I never married and didn't have kids, and I have to say, that was partly due to the misogyny I noticed all around me. When people ask, as they do, why I'm single, I have started to say "why would I want to be viewed as a second class citizen in my own home?" Because I want to start people thinking.
The latest Human Progress Report said 90% of people hold biases against women, and that gender equality has gone backwards in the last decade.
Women might want to stop pointing their finger and look at their own words and actions if we want to see change because we made up a hell of a lot of that 90%.
You are absolutely right, it is terrorism.
Not enjoyable reading at all. I hope you find some peace.
It would be good if the government invited Joan Smith to assist in its review of this area.
Sadly, she lost her job as co chair of London's VAWG board because Khan doesn't like women who won't sign up to the fantasy that male predators become harmless when they put a bit of lipstick on and call themselves Roxanne.
Cooper is also signed up to the trans agenda (her son is a trans rights activist) and I suspect she will put political ideology ahead of the best interests of women and girls.
Thanks David. It's way too easy for officials & society to dismiss these acts as those of a deranged individual & unavoidable! Why does an event that becomes described as "an act of terror" have any more importance and draw more attention & gravity?? It should not. Misogyny has and always will be a motivation for a coward who hates everyone & everything! Purely because, as was stated in your article, they are easy targets! Lets stop making excuses & run around looking for labels for such an horrific act & address the lack of action and or incompetent responses to the numerous red flags.
Maybe some one should sign a spot light on the mysogisic projects. We have something called the fatherhood initiative in the United States. Started after the welfare reform act and responsible marriage. It's taken a hold of the government in the state of Connecticut. The national fatherhood initiative is a nonprofit organization. There is a memorandum of understanding for fatherhood in the state of Connecticut. The judicial branch are attached. Fatherhood research grants are running through the department of family service. Heavily run in the social services health and human services. Such terms as maternal gatekeepers have come out of this by Allen Hawkins. When women believe that the father of their children are dangerous. There has been much research grants awarded for experimental psychology. Attached to the fatherhood initiative. At Smith college in Massachusetts and Yale in Connecticut. Marsha Kline Pruett. Her husband Kyle Pruitt. Both associated with the fatherhood initiative. A private organization getting funding. Such research paint mothers in a negative light. Such as the hand that rocks the cradle. Much of the fatherless households are projected as women blocking access to fathers. These " research project" are attached to high conflict divorce. Child custody cases. I have yet to find a fatherhood research paper on a study that discusses father's poor parenting or abusive behavior. The majority of the research I read is negative stereotypes of women who are claim to be obstacles for fatherhood. This a bipartisan project in the US. Most people don't know about. Most people don't know how much in research grants are awarded. Based on gender equality and inclusion. The majority of studies are for minority community. Not much on the whole of the United States. A project for incarcerated fathers that effects fatherhood as a whole. Having a direct impact on the legal system in the United States. Also attached to parental alienation claims in family court. An unregulated practice with reunification therapy. Is there any report on out comes? Is this program working? The fatherhood program are aggressively promoted by CGS government solutions. Are they tracking out comes? This effect the welfare of children. Many statistics from the fatherhood initiative are not broken down. It's all attached to child welfare.
I've heard a bit about this, especially regarding parental alienation cases brought by father's to keep control over their kids in cases where there were accusations of domestic violence and sexual abuse against them. It's a nightmare for the mothers caught up in the court system without financial resources. Richard Gardner was the leader of the movement started years ago. He seemed to treat pedophilia lightly and all his sympathy was with the fathers. He eventually committed suicide.
In 1999 the term maternal gatekeeper was coined by Allen and Hawkins. It's the term used for a mother who would limit a fathers involvement in a child life. Out of concern for the father being dangerous to the child. This has a direct correlation to parental alienation and the AFCC. A majority of the studies come out of fatherhood labs. In experimental psychology departments in colleges and universities. Hawkins was a former president of the fatherhood initiative. He has been involved in DCF, social services and the former director of health during the Bush administration. He resigned because of an investigation into his spending. Most fatherhood initiative programs are run through the health and human services departments. The research funding runs through DCF. These so called " parental alienation" experts defend and are infatuated with Richard Gardner. Many of these psychologist in the fatherhood labs have deep rooted religious beliefs about marriage. Several are mysogisic approach to family and child rearing. The father is head of the household and the disciplinarian. This has become a deep rooted problem in the United States. The welfare reform and responsible fatherhood and marriage. It's tanted our judicial system. Has been inserted in health and human services and child welfare systems. Connecticut being ground zero for the significant problems we are facing in the United States of America and child safety.

This is an incredibly powerful piece of writing, one that will really stick with me. Thank you David.
Thanks Charly!

Wonderfully written. Was in tears by the end. Thank you for what you do. It means a lot.

Well she is absolutely the wrong person for the job.
